Hermione Jean Granger is the daughter of two muggle dentists who became the brightest witch in her year at Hogwarts, and the best friend of Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. She made top marks in all of her classes at Hogwarts, and gained a reputation as a bookworm and an overachiever. There was no doubt that she would do great things with her ability to catch on quickly, and to memorize spells. The best and brightest of students at Hogwarts, Hermione would go on to fight alongside her friends at the Battle of Hogwarts, where many of their dearest friends lost their lives.

After the Battle, Hermione returned to Hogwarts to finish school and take her N.E.W.T.s. After finishing at Hogwarts, Hermione went on to begin a career with the Ministry of Magic and marry long-time school friend, Ron Weasley.

In the beginning, Hermione and Ron shared a very close and loving relationship, one that only strengthened in the early days of their marriage. After all they'd been through together, they were extremely close, and their love for each other only grew. Hermione, as everyone expected, moved up very quickly in the Ministry, becoming the head of the Department for International Magical Cooperation at the young age of 25, and things seemed amazing. But as time went on, as is often the case, Ron and Hermione grew apart, focused on their work, and the romance that had once blossomed between them began to fade.

Left feeling broken and distant from her husband, Hermione finally made the choice to leave. Her heart was broken, because she had never stopped loving him, but she needed more out of a relationship than she was getting with Ron, and as much as she wanted it to work, there was only so much she could do. When none of her attempts to catch her husband's eye and revive the romance worked, she left, striking out on her own to begin a new life on her own, working on becoming an independent woman, content with the single life once again. The only small problem that remains with that is the fact that, whether she admits it or not, she still loves him.

In the meantime, however, Hermione has poured the extra time into her friendship with Harry, and the pair have become closer than ever, with Harry being the only person she's confided almost everything about her relationship in.
